About the Charity

Picture
Proceeds for expenses involved in re-uniting a 4 year old boy in Liberia with his mother and grandparents who were refugees sponsored by the church and brought to Columbia, MO years ago. His grandparents are now USA citizens.

MARVIN'S STORY

Four year old Marvin, who currently lives in very crowded conditions in rural Liberia, has been separated from his mother for three long years. In 2006, his mother Helena was granted permission to join her parents and siblings whom Rockbridge Christian Church had sponsored as refugees in Columbia, MO. At that time, because of government regulations, Marvin was not permitted to travel with her. She was told that Marvin would be able to join her in a matter of only a few months. After years of applications and processing, Marvin has finally been granted a visa and permission to settle in Columbia with his mother. However, the expenses and process even after this became more complicated and involved than we had imagined. We are raising funds to finally make his move happen.
